I think the Republicans are wrong for holding poor peoples’ unemployment benefits hostage so the Democrats will extend tax benefits for the wealthiest people in America. Maybe the President will compromise and, extend the tax benefits temporarily. I know this is a hot button issue and many of you will disagree with me. I still would like to see your comments anyway. Washington insiders report a deal is in the works between the Obama administration and congressional Republicans that would extend Bush-era tax cuts for both middle and upper-income Americans, in exchange for an extension for jobless benefits.

The deal represents a middle point in a sharply divided debate between Obama and the Republicans on whether tax breaks should be given to Americans making more than $250,000/year–a loophole put in place during the Bush administration to help high-income Americans.
